Centerface Fixation Full-Pin, Cancellous Threads

 

These pins feature a deep thread with larger thread pitch than standard thread Centerface fixation full-pins and are effective in metaphyseal bone applications where adequate bone stock is present to support the increased thread diameters. Acceptable locations include the proximal tibia and the distal femur only. These pins are contraindicated in diaphyseal bone, in the radius or ulna, and in the hard bone of the humeral condyle. Predrilling is important.

Rarely is more than one cancellous pin placed into a single ESF construct. Standard length pins used in the majority of applications while extended length pins (part numbers indicated with an "L") are occasionally used when additional thread length is needed to span areas of larger bone diameter.
